Dr. Clayton Runyan graduated from Roosevelt High School, near Lubbock, Texas. He then attended McMurry University where he played football for four years. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in biology as a member of the Alpha Chi national honor society. Dr. Runyan received his dental training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in May of 2006.He is married to Kelly, who grew up in Rising Star, Texas. They have a son Jack, 10, and a daughter Kizer Drew, 8, that go to Wylie schools. Outside of the office, Dr. Runyan enjoys hunting, fishing, and golf, and he especially loves watching and coaching his children’s activities.
With a special interest in dental implants, he has completed a post-grad Preceptorship in dental implantology. Dr. Runyan has also completed prestigious courses at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry from the Spear education continuum, is actively a member of the Spear Study Club and has advanced training in Cerec Technology. He is also certified in enteral sedation. Dr. Runyan is a member of several accredited organizations such as the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, the 17th District Dental Society and is a board member of Abilene’s Presbyterian Medical Care Mission.
Dr. Runyan believes that one of the greatest clinical and diagnostic tools is listening and has based his philosophy for treatment on this principle.
